Home Depot names 20-year vet Ted Decker chief operating officer

said Friday that Edward “Ted” Decker has been named chief operating officer, effective Oct. 5. Decker, a 20-year veteran of the home improvement retailer, was previously its chief merchandising officer. The company also announced a series of other promotions, including Ann-Marie Campbell to executive vice president of U.S. stores and international operations, adding responsibility for Canada and Mexico to her plate, and Jeff Kinnaird, now chief merchant after serving as president of Home Depot Canada. Home Depot stock has gained 27.1% for the year to date while the Dow Jones Industrial Average

is down 2.5% for the period.
