Kaizer Chiefs Target ‘Mbesuma’ for Potential Transfer Soon

Kaizer Chiefs’ transfer target Lungelo Nguse is on the verge of departing from Golden Arrows.

The 25-year-old forward had a standout season with the KZN club, netting five goals in the 2023/24 campaign. Prior to the onset of this season, Amakhosi were among the clubs expressing interest in the ex-AmaTuks player.

Nguse’s representative Mike Makaab asserts that the striker offers a unique skill set that distinguishes him from others.

“He has a contract with Arrows, and there has been interest in him. I have a high regard for him as a player. I believe he adds a distinctive dimension to a football club. He’s a powerful, imposing striker,” Makaab mentioned to FARPost.

“I don’t need to tell you that big strikers are becoming increasingly rare, and having one provides an additional option.”

“I truly believe he is a very gifted player, and I wouldn’t be surprised if Lungelo Nguse attracts serious interest from other clubs in the coming months,” he said.

Stellenbosch FC is also keeping an eye on Nguse as the January transfer window approaches. If Kaizer Chiefs do not submit an offer, Stellies might seize the opportunity to sign him after losing Iqraam Rayners to Mamelodi Sundowns.

Nguse, affectionately known as Mbesuma, has shared that the former Kaizer Chiefs star is his inspiration.

“Who is my role model? It has to be [Collins] Mbesuma,” Nguse told FARPost earlier this year. “Even to this day, people still call me Mbesuma when I’m playing.”

“Growing up, he was the striker I admired. He scored numerous goals for Kaizer Chiefs, and I liked his movement and positioning.”

“We once spoke when he was at Pretoria Callies, and I was at AmaTuks. He motivated me to continue working hard to realize my full potential,” Nguse recounted.
