Cape Town – A trio of cyclists from a BMX club in Limpopo has successfully completed their remarkable journey of 1,741 km from Burgersfort to Cape Town, aiming to raise awareness about gender-based violence (GBV) and promote youth empowerment.
Two weeks into their adventure, determined cyclists Gauta Mahlakoane, Karabo Mokoo, and Maxwell Ndou reached Cape Town on Monday, April 14, 2025, where they were warmly welcomed by Mayor Geordin Hill-Lewis.
“Welcome to Cape Town, Gauta, Maxwell, and Karabo… You’ve made it,” Mayor Hill-Lewis greeted the cyclists upon their arrival in the Mother City.
“We are proud to celebrate this accomplishment. Let’s rally behind their mission to inspire positive change through cycling,” stated the Western Cape Government.
