Gauff’s Heartbreak

A visibly shaken Coco Gauff faced a disappointing exit from Wimbledon on Tuesday.

After her Grand Slam triumph at Roland Garros, Gauff encountered an unexpected first-round loss.

The 21-year-old, seeded No. 2, was ousted by unseeded Ukrainian competitor Dayana Yastremska.

In her post-match press conference, Gauff, with tears in her eyes, expressed that she felt mentally “overwhelmed.”

“I think I was somewhat overwhelmed mentally by everything that followed, so I didn’t feel like I had enough time to celebrate and then reset,” she shared.

“This is my first time experiencing a victory and then competing at Wimbledon, and I’ve certainly learned what to do and what to avoid going forward.”
