Ouaddou Praises Spain’s Pre-Season Training Camp Experience
Orlando Pirates’ head coach Abdeslam Ouaddou shared his approval of the team’s performance after their preseason tour, which concluded with a 2-0 win over Granada on Saturday night at the Marbella Football Center in Spain.
Goals from Patrick Maswanganyi and Relebohile Mofokeng ensured the Buccaneers’ victory. This successful outing wrapped up their preseason in Spain positively, having played four matches—resulting in one win, two draws, and one loss.
Ouaddou commended his players for their commitment and self-assurance, stating, “I have immense belief in my players, and I work hard to instill confidence in them, promoting hard work, dedication, and teamwork.”
He emphasized that this victory would enhance the team’s confidence and uplift their spirits.
“Indeed, we are concluding this tour with a victory, which I believe will significantly boost the players’ confidence as we end on a high note,” remarked the former Fulham defender.
“From my viewpoint, the opportunities we created are a positive sign, and we will ensure the players get the rest they require.”
With the preseason tour behind them, the Pirates are heading home to gear up for their first official match of the season, the MTN8 Cup quarterfinal against Polokwane City at Orlando Stadium on August 2.
This match will mark Ouaddou’s inaugural official game as head coach of the Soweto giants, a prospect he’s eagerly anticipating.
“Furthermore, we are excited to return to Johannesburg and play in front of our supporters, who are eager to see this team in action,” he added.
