JSC Unveils Shortlist for Constitutional Court Judiciary Positions
Johannesburg – The Judicial Service Commission (JSC) has announced the candidates shortlisted for the two re-advertised judicial vacancies at the Constitutional Court.
The JSC explained that the decision to re-advertise these positions was due to insufficient applicants during the initial advertisement.
On Thursday, 14 August 2025, the JSC issued a brief statement revealing the shortlist.
The following candidates have been chosen for interviews concerning the Constitutional Court vacancies:
Judge Nambitha Dambuza-Mayosi
Advocate Alan Christopher Dodson SC
Judge Glenn Graham Goosen
Dr. Madumetja Kate Malepe
Judge Ingrid Opperman
Judge Katharine Mary Savage
Judge Ashton Schippers
The JSC indicated that the shortlisted candidates will undergo interviews during the week of 6 – 17 October 2025. They will be notified about the venue, specific date, and time of their interviews in due course.
In the meantime, the JSC has invited legal organizations and individuals who wish to offer feedback on the suitability of any shortlisted candidate to send their comments to the JSC Secretariat at MSongca@judiciary.org.za and TPhaahlamohlaka@judiciary.org.za, with copies to: JSC@judiciary.org.za.
“Feedback regarding each candidate must be submitted on a separate page in both PDF and Word format and must reach the Secretariat by 5 September 2025,” the JSC emphasized.
“Submissions made after 5 September 2025 will not be taken into account.”
