Sundowns Announce Signing of Portuguese Midfielder
Mamelodi Sundowns has officially announced the acquisition of Portuguese midfielder Miguel Reisinho, shortly after coach Miguel Cardoso suggested that the deal was nearing completion.
Following Sundowns’ 1-0 loss to Golden Arrows in the Betway Premiership at King Zwelithini Stadium on Wednesday, Cardoso remarked that Reisinhoβs transfer would be resolved within βa day or two.β On Friday, the club made his signing official, welcoming him as the newest member of the team.
Reisinho is the second Portuguese player to join Sundowns this week, following the important signing of Nuno Santos from VitΓ³ria SC.
The 26-year-old Santos, acquired for an estimated R20 million, made his debut against Arrows on Wednesday and has taken on the number 10 jersey, previously held by Lucas Ribeiro Costa.
Unlike Santos, who joined on the final day of the PSL transfer window, Reisinho enters as a free agent after leaving Portuguese club Boavista at the end of the last season.

Now, the spotlight is on whether Reisinho will be available when Sundowns take on Richards Bay this Sunday at Lucas Moripe Stadium.
The club is currently in the process of securing his work permit; however, Santosβ recent experience demonstrated that Home Affairs can expedite this procedure, having completed his documentation in just two days.
With the acquisitions of Reisinho and Santos, Sundowns have bolstered their squad depth as they strive to defend their Betway Premiership title while pursuing continental glory in the CAF Champions League.
