Gary Neville Slams Liverpool Trio as ‘Utterly Ineffective’ in Chelsea Clash
Manchester United legend Gary Neville directed criticism at Liverpool players Mohamed Salah, Florian Wirtz, and Cody Gakpo following their defeat to Chelsea.
The Reds faced a frustrating 2-1 loss against the Blues at Stamford Bridge on Saturday, with Estevao Willian scoring a dramatic winner in the fifth minute of stoppage time.

The Merseyside team appeared poised for a late comeback after Gakpo, 26, leveled the score following Moises Caicedo’s opening goal.
However, Arne Slot’s squad recorded their third consecutive defeat across all competitions.
Neville, 50, was unreserved in his criticism of Liverpool’s “completely ineffective” performance.
The Sky Sports analyst emphasized that the struggles of Gakpo, Salah, 33, and Wirtz, 22, contributed to the reigning Premier League champions’ downfall.
Neville remarked: “Matches are defined by teams that display a will to win.
“I’m not suggesting Liverpool didn’t show this; they clearly did, but I found their performance disappointing after scoring.
“There’s been a considerable focus on Liverpool’s defensive problems, which is warranted, but that wasn’t the cause of today’s loss.
“They faltered in the final 15-20 minutes because their creative players—those in the attacking third—were shockingly ineffective.

“They were giving away possession alarmingly. Gakpo here, Salah over there; the wastefulness.
“Wirtz did not grasp how to make an impact at those crucial moments, sticking to marking Caicedo; I observed him closely.”
