Darts Fans Rejoice Over Cameron Menzies’ Genuine Response to Thrilling World Grand Prix Win

CAMERON MENZIES erupted with joy as he advanced to the quarter-finals of the World Grand Prix for the very first time.

The enthusiastic Scotsman, age 36, secured his place in the last eight with a 3-1 victory over Rob Cross on the third evening in Leicester.

Menzies, who used to work as a plumber, encountered some struggles with his darts, missing eight chances before finally hitting double four on his NINTH attempt.

In an exciting display, he jumped around the stage, having ensured a minimum of £25,000 in prize money this week in the East Midlands.

The match itself was a bit underwhelming, with Menzies averaging only 84.45 while former world champion Cross, 35, came in at just 81.27.

There were 42 missed doubles out of a total of 60 attempts before Menzies, currently ranked No 32 globally, moved on to the next round.

This is his first televised tournament appearance since the announcement of his breakup with fellow dart player Fallon Sherrock after four years together.

Menzies shared: “I was primarily focused on managing my adrenaline. I held back my emotions until I won the first set, and then everything came out.”

“Expressing emotion is essential. There are limits, and at times, I might push them too far.”

“I felt frustrated about missing the darts, and at one point, I was genuinely concerned.”
