Fuel Prices Expected to Decrease at Pumps Beginning Next Wednesday
Johannesburg – The Department of Mineral and Petroleum Resources has announced the fuel price adjustments for May, leading to lower rates at the fuel stations.
Effective next week, Wednesday (7 May 2025), and factoring in the current local and global conditions, the fuel prices will be altered as follows:
- Petrol 93 (ULP & LRP): A decrease of twenty-two cents per litre (22.00 c/l).
- Petrol 95 (ULP & LRP): A decrease of twenty-two cents per litre (22.00 c/l).
- Diesel (0.05% sulphur): A reduction of forty-two cents per litre (42.00 c/l).
- Diesel (0.005% sulphur): A reduction of forty-one cents per litre (41.00 c/l).
- Illuminating Paraffin (wholesale): A decrease of thirty-one cents per litre (31.00 c/l).
- SMNRP for IP: A decrease of forty-one cents per litre (41.00 c/l).
- Maximum LPGas Retail Price: An increase of forty-six cents per kilogram (46.00 c/kg).
The updated fuel price schedule for different zones will be published on Tuesday (6 May 2025).
