Fatal Head-On Collision in Cato Manor: One Man in His 30s Dead, Four Others Hurt

Durban – A devastating head-on crash on Bellair Road, close to the BP Garage in Cato Manor, has led to one fatality and four injuries.

ALS Paramedics spokesperson Garrith Jamieson reported that they were alerted to the tragic incident shortly after 16:00 on Sunday, July 27, 2025.

Upon their arrival, paramedics found two vehicles severely damaged on the road.

“A rapid triage was performed, and additional ambulances, along with Advanced Life Support paramedics and the Ethekwini Fire Department, were dispatched to provide assistance,” stated Jamieson.

“One individual, believed to be in his 30s and traveling in a light motor vehicle, sustained critical injuries. Sadly, there was nothing paramedics could do, and he was pronounced dead at the scene,” added Jamieson.

“Four other patients received on-site treatment from Advanced Life Support paramedics before being taken to various hospitals in Durban for further medical attention.”

Authorities were on-site, but the identity of the deceased has not been disclosed pending notification of next of kin.
